On Sept 9, I requested a port from Charter communications to ST. I had read several issues with porting numbers, but this would be our 4th number with ST. The first two were ports from Verizon and were nearly instantanious and the third was a new #, so I thought no big deal..wow was I completely WRONG
That evening, ST called to verify my information and said my prevous carrier (Charter) denied my port because of innaccurate information. Yes, it was, b/c ST used my new address instead of asking me for the address on my previous account with Charter. 24 hrs later, ST calls back and says pervious carrier won't release number due to mulitple lines with that company.
Sept 10, called Charter, they tell me the request was denied but unable to tell me why. Spoke with CSR and told them they had permission to port the number to ST
Sept 11, ST calls back and says Charter will not release the number due to multiple lines.
Sept 11 Call to Charter, number is open and avail to port, no request recieved
Sept 11 Called ST to re-initiate port
Sept 11 ST calls and says same story, Charter won't release number
Set 12, Sept 13, Same stories, different day. Charter blames ST, ST blames Charter. In the mean time I have a cell phone that I've paid for a service card yet have no number ported over in order to use it. This has been a revolving nightmare.
Sept 13 pm, I supposidly talked with a ST CSR supervisor who actually placed me in a 3-way call with Charter, Charter was clear in that the number is open and available for porting. CSR supervisor said the request was made and should take 24 hrs.
Sept 13 late pm 2 calls from ST Number portability department stating Charter will not release number to ST due to mulitple lines in use. HELLO..they are my lines, I have the right to port 1 of them if I so choose.
Not sure why, but it seems ST isn't capeable of porting a number and it would definitely help if anyone spoke clear English as they can not be understood on the phone.
