alltel cdma smartphones with straight talk

Postby markshells » Sat Mar 24, 2012 6:42 pm

When i called alltel to activeate new no contract service the rep actually stated that my phone was part of the straight talk network and he could activate it with alltel, but he could not..lucky me after finding out that the alltel no contract unlimited plan is anything but unlimited. My wife and I are not going to re up our verizon contrat after 6 years with them, cost is too high and they cancelled all the unlimited plans. Anyway, Was he right and can i use my Alltel HTC touch Window phones with Straight talk? We love the phones and I know straight talk gives great signal where we live and work.

Hi, markshells. My name is StraightTalk Shelly and I will be addressing your question. Straight Talk now supports any AT&T or T-Mobile compatible phones, and any domestic unlocked GSM phones. As long as your Alltel HTC Touch Window is a GSM phone technology or a domestic unlock GSM phone, you may use it with the Straight Talk service by purchasing a Straight Talk SIM card. Please visit www.straighttalkSIM.com for more details. Thank you.

Ok I don't wanna sound stupid but what does GSM stand for? Me and my husband has the android touch screen and we live our phones. We are not on contract and we bought our phones straight up thru cricket and we are just paying as we go I guess u can say every month. We are getting ready to move back to Illinois and there is no cricket companies up there. So we are wondering if we could just use our phones that we paid for in cash and switch them to straight talk next month?

Hi sdanderson77. My name is Straight Talk Sophie. GSM stands for "Global System for Mobile Communication." This is a carrier phone technology. These phones use SIM card to acquire network connection. At this time, BYOP (Bring your own Phone) program will NOT work with CDMA phones. Thank you.
