Porting a family plan from Sprint

Porting a family plan from Sprint

Postby sudhir » Thu Feb 09, 2012 11:05 am

I have 3 lines of service on a family plan with Sprint, I submitted requests to port all three numbers to Straight Talk and was wondering if they can all be ported at same time or 2 of the numbers ported first and the main line ported next.

Reason I dont want the main line ported first is because, if that happens then the other two numbers are lost prior to porting. Can anyone help me how this can be accomplished ?

Also, my billing cycle on Sprint ends tomorrow, is there any possibility to escalate the porting process, I submitted my porting request yesterday and was told it can take anything from 3 hrs to 2 business days and I want to make sure that the porting happens prior to my sprint bill cut off time. Please help me.

Thanks Stephanie for contacting so quickly, I have the request number for the main line, #1045811784, I want to make sure that this port goes last.

I dont have the request number for the other two lines as they were done online, can I email you securely or any other method by which I can give you the serial numbers of those two other lines so that you can take a look at them and help me. I dont want to post the serial numbers here on this forum if it is not so safe.

Sudhir,

I don't work for Sprint nor StraightTalk, however I was in the same boat as you are and researched everything (had 3 family lines also)...

To answer a few of your questions:

If you port your "primary" number from Sprint before porting the additional lines, your account stays active regardless and the two additional lines on a family plan. I confirmed this with Sprint prior to porting my numbers.

As for "expediting" the port process, good luck with that. See my thread/complaint thread: http://www.straighttalkwirelessforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6808&t=51718

I ported my first 2 lines to straighttalk with no problem on new activations (no number assigned)... The above thread is giving me issues because I started straighttalk service with a new number for them and after two months have now decided to port the last line over however, I am now having issues. If you haven't activated any lines with StraightTalk, I suggest you use the www.straighttalk.com/activate link and follow those steps for "Bringing my phone number from another carrier to straight talk"... This method is the method I used for the first two lines and within 1 hr, the numbers were ported WITHOUT issue.

hope this helps...

Hi sudhir. My name is Straight Talk John and I will be assisting you at this time. The port ticket number 1045811784 shows to be closed already. This means to say it has been completed. Have you tried checking you phone's serial number ending in 3825 is already working with last four digit of phone number ending in 6500?

The ticket number 1045837884 was created to document the plan added to your phone. Instead, we use the ticket 1045858969 for another port being processed on another phone. This goes to a phone serial number ending in 4340 with and ported phone number ending in 0731. Please also check of it is already working.

Let us know here when both of the phones are working already. Thanks!
John
