QUESTION about a new iPHONE

My wife has an iPHONE 6 with a Straight Talk plan. My daughter gave her her old iPHONE 8Plus that was Sprint but it's now unlocked. What do I need to do to transfer the 8Plus over to her Straight Talk account? She seems to think all I need to do is put her SIM card from her old phone in the 8Plus? I don't think it will be that easy
