I just now ended my AT&T contract yesterday and tried to port my number to STraightalk on the same day: right now I'm in limbo with no cell service, not sure if my sim is fried and my first month of service is ticking away. Here's what trying to figure out:
-I scheduled my AT&T service to end Oct 19, then went and bought a 'bring your own phone activation kit.'
-I provided the account credentials to port the number from ATT around 11 a.m. on the 19th of Oct, however I had received an email from ATT at 3 a.m. saying the number had be deactivated/disassociated with the account
-I realize that the number needs to be active to port correctly
-When I turn on my phone with the ATT compatible SIM from straighttalk i get this message "(SIM not provisioned MM#2)
-I don't know if the port will go through, i know it can take up to 2 business days. In the mean time, I don't have a phone line. It's hard for customer service to track me because my number and device is not in the system.
-I sent an email to the customer service email address provided, but they have yet to respond
-I tried to activate another one of the SIM cards provided (for T-mobile phones) but it could not be activated with my service plan PIN because that's been used already for the number I wanted to port. Also the SIM card would not work because the phone is not unlocked, it's an ATT phone, which is normal.
-------------------------------------------------
So right now as far as I know I have paid for the SIM and a month of service and requested a port. The service month is now ticking away and I have no cell service. I don't know what's going on with the Port. I can't take back the port request and just take a new number, or try to port a different number from Google Voice.
I'm unable to talk to customer service on the phone because I don't have phone service, and as far as I can tell there's no customer service chat available.
Does anyone know what I can do?
Thanks in Advance.
