Private message was a link to live chat support, here is that conversation:
Stacy: Thank you for using our chat support. This is Stacy, how may I help you?
Michael : About 1 month ago I suddenly lost the ability to Group Text to large groups (more than 10 recipients).
Michael : I've been sending group texts to 15-30 people at a time weekly for nearly a year, then about a month ago I get "message failed". I didn't change anything, same carrier, same phone, same app, same settings, it just suddenly stopped working. It took me nearly 2 weeks to figure out that it only happened on messages sent to more than 10 recipients.
Michael : I would like to send Group Text messages to more than 10 people at a time, just like I was able to a month ago.
Stacy: I'm sorry to hear that. Let me check your account. Please stay on the line.
Stacy: Please turn the phone off then back on. Once done, try to check if the issue is resolved.
Michael : ok, im doing that now.
Stacy: Okay.
Stacy: Are you still there? If I do not get a response from you within three minutes, I will end this chat session.
Michael : Nope. Still cant send a Group Text (MMS) to more than 10 people at a time. "Failed"
Stacy: What is the make and model of your device?
Michael : Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Stacy: Okay. Please remove the battery while the phone is on. After 60 seconds, return the battery then turn the phone back on. Once done, try to check if it is still doing the same thing.
Michael : This is a carrier limitation. I can almost guarantee that any phone using Straight Talk (on the AT&T network) will not be able to send a Group Text to more than 10 people. I will remove my
battery and try again though. Give me a minute.
Stacy: Okay. I can wait for three minutes.
Stacy: Are you still there? If I do not get a response from you within three minutes, I will end this chat session.
Michael : Nope. Still not sending text message to a group larger than 10 recipients.
Stacy: Have you tried inserting the SIM to a different phone? If so, is it doing the same thing?
Stacy: Are you still there? If I do not get a response from you within three minutes, I will end this chat session.
Michael : I have not done that, but I will when mywife gets home. Again, i suspect that my sim in her phone won't allow me to send a large group text and her sim in my phone won't send a large group
text either. The problem is that we both use Straight Talk sim cards on the AT&T network. The phone isn't the problem, the sim isnt the problem, the carrier is the problem. I will try though.
Stacy: Okay. You can also try to check the Message Settings.
Stacy: Is there anything else that I can assist you with?
Michael : Can you confirm for me that someone there is using a cell phone with a Straight Talk (AT&T) sim card and is able to send a group text to more than 10 people?
Stacy: Unfortunately, I can't since there were no customers chatting us to report that they can send more than people.
Michael : Ok
