3G vs. 4G Data

3G vs. 4G Data

Postby Sbriner » Sun Apr 21, 2013 6:38 pm

I purchased the IPhone 5 and got it set up yesterday. I am happy with the voice coverage. My phone shows the TFW network and 3G. I traveled all over St. Louis thinking maybe my area was not a 4G and the phone never changed to display 4G. Does anyone know whats up. I called Straight Talk, and they indicated I have been activated on the Verizon network. I thought the Straight Talk network was only GSM.

Hi Sbriner. My name is Straight Talk Larry. 3G and 4G services are available if the carrier in the area has the capability and the phone has the capability as well. Not all areas support 3G or 4G but if you move from area to area, you can expect the type of service to change based on what is available in the area. Thanks.

I have an IPad which is on the Verizon network, same as my Straight talk IPhone 5. The IPad is getting 4G, but the Straight talk phone is not. Both are on the Verizon network
