I am currently using the LG Optimus Q but recently it has been acting up and I want to transfer to my ZTE Merit while keeping the same number. I bought the ZTE Merit from my cousin who only used it for a month before switching to another provider. The problem is when I go to put in the 18 digit MEID code for the ZTE Merit, and error message appears at the top of the screen.
We are sorry, the Serial Number you entered is associated with another account or is already active. Please try again with a different serial number or log into "My Account."
So I obtained my cousin's old account information so that I could remove the phone from his account. When I logged on it showed that there were no phones in his account. I even tried activating the ZTE Merit on his old account only to be presented with the same error message. How should I go about fixing this and transferring my number from the my LG Optimus Q to the ZTE Merit?s
