I'm considering getting a StraightTalk phone. If I order a StraightTalk phone today, and wish to port (transfer) my land-line phone number to a new StraightTalk phone, when should I terminate the land-line telephone account? How long should I wait?

Hi. My name is StraightTalk Shelly and I will be addressing your question. You will not need to terminate your landline service in order to port in your number to Straight Talk. The number should remain active while the port in process is still ongoing. The landline phone will be automatically disconnected once the port in process is completed. The process to port in a landline phone number to Straight Talk would take up to 30 days. I believe this answers your question. It's been a pleasure helping you. Have a good day.

Thanks for your prompt response. One other question, please: Does StraightTalk offer the ability to block incoming calls or block certain telephone numbers? I have this service with my land-line telephone. Thank you.

Hi Wwest. Straight Talk does not support this feature. We could not block incoming calls or block certain phone numbers. I believe this answers your question. It's been a pleasure helping you. Have a good day.
