NEW PHONE INVALID SERIAL NUMBER

I bought a new phone at walmart and can not activate it because straightalk says my serial number is invalid. I returned to walmart and they state the phone was scanned correctly and we have validated the serial number. What can I do to get straighttalk to validate this phone?
