Acitvation - Pending Transaction

Acitvation - Pending Transaction

Postby monkey » Sat Feb 15, 2014 6:00 pm

I activated two phones 3 hours ago but they are still showing as "Activation Required" and my account reflects that there is a "Pending Transaction". I have phoned the Customer Service phone number provided but it just keeps telling me to wait 15 minutes and try again. Is there a road block I need to be aware of?

Just so anyone reading this is updated, here is what has happened so far:

The IM I got directed me to a live chat with a representative. They had me check the code in the phones which were not correct. They walked me through updating the code manually which made both phones "Active". Unfortunately I still could not make calls, texts, etc.

I reentered the live chat with a representative who then gave me a phone number and pin to call directly to a customer service representative. That rep then verified that my phones were active. Then he checked to see if the servicing wireless carrier (AT&T) had any current service outages in my area. He said there were and that I should continue to check over the next 24 hours and then call back if the problem wasn't resolved.

The next morning I found that AT&T provides a real time map of service outages online (http://downdetector.com/status/att/map/). I checked and saw no problems in my service area so I called customer service again. This time, the service rep had me pull the sim cards and check the serial numbers on them. According the service rep, I had gotten the wrong sim cards with the phones. They are sending me new ones in the mail and promise to reset the clock on my 30 days when they are installed and working.

I will provide another update after I receive the sim cards to let everybody know if that resolved my problems.

I received one of my new SIM cards today. As neither of my phones are working I had to utilize live chat to attempt to get the new SIM card activated. Unfortunately, it would seem that there is still a problem as the service rep let me know that she kept encountering a system error with my account and could not get my SIM card activated. I was informed that the issue would be elevated and that I needed to contact Straight Talk again in another 24 hours to finish activating my phone. While I am frustrated that my phones are still not working, I do have to say that everyone I have spoken to/chatted with has been friendly and has convinced me that they are at least trying to be helpful.

Latest update:

After waiting 24 hours, I entered live chat again. During this conversation, the service rep told me to call customer service and left the conversation--unfortunately with both of my phones not working, I could not call anyone. So I started another conversation and that rep told me that my phone number was no longer available and then the live chat window crashed. So I got into a third conversation and this time, the service rep (Shannon) hooked me up and fixed the phone rather quickly.

On a side note, I am still waiting on the second SIM card and am dreading going through all of this again when it arrives.

Monkey, I can relate. I keep having a problem with the phone locking up and wanting a puk code. Just as I believe I have that problem resolved, now I have 1 with the Pin number. It has everything locked up in my phone!
