Nexus 5 - AT&T - Hangouts messages severely delayed

Just chiming in here that this issue is affecting me as well. I have gone through several different ST sim cards over the last month and it is still happening.

Im assuming nobody has solved this issue as Ive read through this whole thread and other than autoreply bots there has been no help provided.

This could occur due to many factors like your device or some wireless connection in the area, network changes, network traffic volume, network outages, technical limitations, weather and other conditions. Moreover, your service may be limited due to the system capacity limitation imposed by the Carrier, thus, some of the phone’s functionality will not work properly.
