Extend ring time on home home

It seems a lot of people have the same problem of trying to increase the number of rings on their Straight Talk Home Phone. I first tried going to *86 voicemail setup, but couldn't re-configure it there.

After chatting with a rep, here's the answer I got:

"Be informed that this default action or settings are determined by the carrier's network that the phone is currently working with and this could not be changed on our end. I am sorry."

So no go. If anyone finds an answer, please let us know!

I might have found a simple solution for those of you who want to use their own answering machine to pick up--for example, after 8 rings--without the Straight Talk voicemail answering first. Just call Straight Talk at 877-430-CELL (2355), follow the prompts and give your ST telephone number. No MEID number necessary. Tell them you want to disable/deactivate voicemail. Note that all messages will be deleted. Once that's been taken care of, re-set your answering machine to pick up after 8 rings. If later you'd like to have ST voicemail again, go into your *86 settings and reset your ST voicemail.
