I have been experiencing the same issue since straight talk switched the $55 plan to the ultimate unlimited. I've got 2 months of bandwidth download speed averaging .30
I have called and spoke to tech support many times. I was forced to reformat my phone without notice, making me lose all contacts and photos and saved webpage links. I was sent on a merry go round of phone calls so your tech support could contact Verizon to reset something in my phone that took half an hour to complete. All in all, I'm out 2 months of service, countless hours of waiting on the internet to load and innumerable hours of dealing with technical support. I am currently still at download speed under ,43 rather than 5.0 that I'm paying for. And this is not the only phone style having problems. I know of a few other people, one with a brand new phone and service that is having the same issue. I have been with straight talk for 3 years and the location is the same so it's not because I'm in a Subway somewhere outside of the service area.
There must be a solution to this, without having to switch service providers.
UPDATE:
I explain in my post that I have already dealt with tech support. The inbox message I get from ST - Larry, tells me to email my account information to a straight talk email (what account info do you want?) Or to call customer service. I've had a dozen conversations with customer service and they do not know enough to figure out the problem. I was looking for actual assistance, not more copy and paste response that doesn't give any help.
I like straight talk because the rates are better than their competitors in my area, not if I can access the internet.
