How to update operating system on LG Stylo 2

Would also like to be able to update my system software. Phone locked at 5.1.1 and would like to be able to upgrade to at least 6.0. Please if there is a way I would like to know. Thank you.

I did the research on this phone and it was supposed to come stock (or has since it came out) with 6.0.
So after I brought it home and checked it, it was 5.1
So I guess either ST is buying detuned or factory seconds or something and then selling them at Walmart.
Learning from here that they can't be upgraded even to a 2 year old operating system is very disappointing.
Fortunately for me, I have the receipt.
UN fortunately, the airtime is not refundable.
ST got me. (again)

I don't believe the seeming BS about going to a newer operating system will make your phone work worse.
I believe it may be they are concerned that some may brick their phone trying to upgrade.
But not all of us like to be lumped in with those who don't know what we are doing.

Picked up a LGl82vl for my son and has 5.1.1 on it. I see there's a potential to upgrade to 6.1 Marshmallow?
